Frequently Asked Questions
We accept most insurance plans, and we’re happy to bill directly and accept payment on your behalf. We’ll always discuss the cost of your treatment with you prior to starting any procedures, so there will never be any surprises.
X-rays are an important diagnostic tool that assists us in properly assessing your oral health. We typically update them once a year unless you’re having an isolated issue we need to address. Digital x-rays allow our doctors access to the image immediately, and we can discuss your needs right away.
Baby teeth are actually very important and have a number of jobs to do. First, they help your child learn to speak and navigate solid foods. Next, they hold space for and guide incoming adult teeth into place when the time comes. Parents should begin to brush baby teeth as soon as they arrive, and we like to see children for their first dental visits around their first birthday.
Dentures are a great option for patients who have lost most or all of their teeth, but they block the palate, which may inhibit taste and enjoyment of foods. For patients missing one or multiple teeth but still retaining healthy teeth, dental implants are a great way to restore missing teeth and protect jawbone health.
Fluoride is a naturally occurring mineral that helps prevent tooth decay by protecting teeth from acids, remineralizing teeth affected by decay, and reducing acid production in the mouth. In children under 6, fluoride helps build permanent teeth and strengthen enamel.
Spark Clear Aligners offers busy adult and teen patients a discreet and efficient way to straighten their teeth without braces, using clear plastic aligners rather than traditional brackets or wires. Aligners should be worn at least 22 hours per day and changed every two weeks.
Dental implants work well for most patients, but require healthy gums and teeth, enough healthy bone structure, and good overall health. Dr. Crawford and Dr. Reddy can determine if implants are right for you with a thorough examination and x-rays.
Botox, or Botulin toxin, is a protein produced by Clostridium botulin bacteria. Delivered strategically through injection into facial muscles, it helps muscles relax, reducing fine lines and wrinkles, and can also eliminate headaches, bruxism, and jaw joint pain. Effects typically last around three to four months.
While botulinum toxin is an extremely poisonous substance, when used in very small concentrations it is actually safe for humans and can be very beneficial in managing many conditions, such as chronic headaches, fine lines and wrinkles, and bruxism. Dr. Crawford and Dr. Reddy are both certified and experienced in the administration of Botox injections.
We accept most insurance plans. The experts on our team are happy to bill your insurance company directly. Whatever portion of the bill is your share, we accept a number of payment options, including credit and debit cards, as well as cheques.
Botox relaxes muscles, so it is useful for patients suffering from bruxism (clenching and grinding teeth) and for alleviating chronic headaches. Consistent Botox treatments can eliminate bruxism and protect teeth from damage.
We recommend that your little one has their first appointment around the age of one year. This early visit gives us the opportunity to meet your child, begin to monitor their oral health, and help them easily acclimate to the dental office.
A crown is a restorative treatment that covers the entire tooth structure, protecting a tooth that has been damaged by more decay than a filling can repair. Crowns also help rebuild a tooth following root canal therapy and complete a single dental implant.
The primary advantage is that the aligners are virtually undetectable. Treatment times are usually shorter than with traditional braces, there are fewer trips to the dentist, caring for oral health is easier, and there are no food restrictions.
Situations that could point towards a genuine dental emergency include excruciating toothache pain that cannot be relieved by over-the-counter pain relievers, a tooth that has been knocked loose or knocked out, and blood coming from your mouth that cannot be staunched. When in doubt, give our dental office a call.
