Frequently Asked Questions
If you or someone in your family is experiencing severe tooth pain, has a filling or crown that came loose, or has a chip or split tooth, you may need emergency dental treatment.
During your dental hygiene appointment, our dental professionals will provide several services to keep your teeth clean and mouth healthy. You’ll notice the difference a professional cleaning feels with careful plaque and tartar removal (scaling) to polishing, flossing, and brushing. You’ll also have the option of a fluoride treatment to strengthen your teeth.
During the exam, we’ll identify and discuss with you any concerns we notice in your teeth, gums, and overall oral health. We’ll take the time to perform an oral cancer screening, capture and review digital dental x-ray images, and talk through your at-home routine.
On your first visit, we’ll review your dental history and discuss any oral health concerns or goals you may have. We recommend coming ten to fifteen minutes early to your first appointment to complete some forms.
With proper care and gentle cleaning, veneers can last over ten years. Veneers need replacing once they crack or wear out, as the tooth below is no longer intact.
The existing tooth or teeth may have to be fully removed before the dental implant is placed. Once the post is installed into the jawbone, it needs time to heal before the artificial tooth is placed on top. For these reasons, dental implants take several weeks from start to finish.
Root canal procedures get their name from the area in the mouth that requires treatment. When the roots of your teeth become infected, it’s necessary to clear away the infection and clean up the canal for long-term comfort and restoring your tooth health. Performing a root canal can both relieve tooth pain and help you preserve your natural tooth.
There are many reasons why tooth extraction may be the best option for your oral health. You may have a condition where the natural tooth cannot be saved, such as a severe tooth infection, an injury, or a broken tooth. Your dentist may also recommend teeth extraction to make space in your mouth for other teeth or better alignment.
Invisalign is an alternative to braces and it’s effective for a broad range of needs and cases. They’re discreet, perfectly tailored to your smile for a comfortable fit, and easily removable—enjoy all your favourite treats! Invisalign is the clear choice.
