Frequently Asked Questions
We require 2 business day’s notice to reschedule an appointment. This does not apply in the case of emergencies where notice cannot be given.
If you have any concerns or questions that you wish to discuss with the dentist, please inform our staff so that enough time is booked to discuss your concerns. Dr. Abrol does not like to rush patients and wants everyone to feel like they can ask as many questions as they want. Some patient exams take 5 minutes and others can take an hour! If you give us an idea of your concerns, we will make sure we book enough time so that you do not feel rushed.
Most people start with a checkup and cleaning appointment. This is a good starting point. If you are in pain or have an abscess or infection, it is best to book for an emergency appointment first. Please be specific when booking your appointment so that we can book sufficient time to address your concerns.
The best way to book an appointment is to call us at 780-424-6699.
We provide several ways to help you afford seeing a dentist. One is to spread the cost out over time so you don’t have to pay all at once. We offer no-interest financing for most procedures. We can also spread the work you need out overtime to make it easier for you to afford. Our team will give you their opinion on things that need to be done right away and other procedures that may be able to be delayed. It is always your choice when to do any procedure. Ask our front desk if you are concerned about being able to afford your care.
The cost for a cleaning really depends on the current condition of your teeth and gums. Most dental offices charge by “Unit of Scaling”. The cost for a unit of scaling also will vary by the dental office. Our office follows the Alberta Dental Fee Guide to make our services affordable to everyone.
Our dental office is one of the most affordable dentists in Edmonton. We follow the Alberta Dental Fee Guide and offer payment options for those who need it.
We encourage you to book your child’s appointment, no matter their age or level of fear. We will do our best to create a positive experience for them. For example, you may book your child for a cleaning, but we may only end up giving them a ride in the chair, letting them hold the dental mirror and then offering them a prize. This may seem like a waste of time, but it helps to build trust and confidence for the child with the dentist and the office. Most of the time, their second visit is significantly more productive.
The Canadian Dental Association recommend that a child should be seen by a dentist at the age of one. However, we believe that children should be brought in at age two for a fun visit, and age three for an official visit. We recommend that parents start cleaning a child’s teeth with a soft cloth or baby toothbrush when the first baby tooth appears in the mouth. It is important not to comfort the child at bedtime by giving him/her a bottle of milk or juice, as it can cause serious dental decay.
