Frequently Asked Questions
Dental Cleanings: To reduce the risk of gingivitis (gum disease), we recommend dental hygiene visit every 3 to 9 months. Keep in mind, however, that the frequency of dental hygiene visits will be individualized based on the current condition of your mouth and your oral health needs. It’s important to ensure your teeth and gums remain healthy! Dental Exams: Regular dental exams are just as important as seeing a dental hygienist! The frequency of examinations should typically be between 6 to 12 months. However, this schedule will be individualized to meet your personal oral health needs. This is all based on various factors such as your history of cavities, gum disease, and other oral conditions. Everyone has unique dental needs, and at Crestwood Dental, we customize a treatment plan to meet yours.
At Crestwood Dental, we offer flexible payment options and work with a number of insurance providers. We can also direct-bill your insurance company. If you are unsure if your insurance provider is covered, contact us at (403) 526-0777. We also accept cash, debit, MasterCard, or Visa.
Good oral health starts with the first tooth. Baby teeth play a major role in a child’s speech development and nutrition. Even though they will fall out, they should never be considered “disposable,” or be neglected. The first dental visit should take place by about the age of three. Advance visits allow us the opportunity to check for early signs of decay. Nonetheless, we encourage earlier visits to also help children become acclimated to the dentist.
While we are not a 24-hour practice (please see our hours of operation), getting the necessary and correct dental care could save your smile, and treat the pain or symptoms you may be experiencing. We do all we can to provide emergency dental care when needed. If you’ve experienced an injury to your mouth such as a knocked out tooth, cracked or chipped teeth, facial swelling, a missing crown or bridge, or are experiencing tooth pain, please call our office to book a dental emergency appointment and we will make every effort to see you as quickly as possible – (403) 526-0777.
We recommend flossing your teeth at least once a day. As part of your daily regimen, you can remove plaque build-up and any bits of food that brushing may miss.
We offer many cosmetic dentistry options at Crestwood Dental Clinic to help get you closer to the smile you desire. Tooth reshaping or re-contouring can fix slightly misshapen, chipped teeth or teeth that are too long. Alternatively, porcelain veneers are another option for misshapen, discoloured, chipped, crooked, or gapped teeth. Looking to brighten your smile? At-home teeth whitening options can be a cost-effective and simple way to brighten your smile.
Some of our patients require digital x-rays every 6 months. Whereas others with excellent hygiene and low cavity risks only require x-rays every year or so. The frequency of x-rays will be individualized for you at your visit. Other reasons for having x-rays taken include: – checking the jaw for signs of cancer or other abnormalities – to assist with treatment diagnosis Or as a requirement for certain procedures, such as root canal treatment.
At the moment, Crestwood Dental Clinic accepts all private dental plans. These are plans that do not require you to pick a dentist from a list or require our office to accept reduced fees. By accepting private dental plans, we can work with literally thousands of companies. However, due to changes in our policies, it is impossible to give you a guaranteed quote of their payments. We might be able to estimate your portions based on past payment histories, but this is still only an estimate. If you are curious to know the exact insurance benefits you will receive, our office can file a “pre-treatment authorization” with your insurance. Please note that this will delay treatment, but give you the exact out-of-pocket figures you may be looking for.
Crestwood Dental Clinic bases your portion of the bill on our most current data. However, certain factors can affect this estimate including: Deductible (individual or family), Specialist care uses up part of your annual benefit, Insurance does not notify us of changes to your benefits (they will notify you only). If you have any changes to your insurance, be sure to let us know as soon as possible.
As a courtesy, our office submits your claims. When your insurance does not pay, however, it is your responsibility to complete the payment in full for the services we provided. Your insurance benefits are a result of a contract between you and that particular company. Crestwood Dental Clinic is not part of that contract and, therefore, all responsibility for paying the charges incurred at our office fall to you.
