Snoring Counseling
Snoring can disrupt your sleep and leave you tired the next day. In some cases, snoring can be reduced or eliminated by dental treatment. We provide snoring counselling to help you determine and treat the cause of your snoring so you can get some rest.
Scaling and Root Planing
Deep cleaning above the gumline can help prevent and treat the buildup of infection-causing bacteria. Scaling helps remove tartar buildup, and root planning removes rough areas from the roots of your teeth that make form a home for bacteria.
Inlays and Onlays
Inlays and onlays are restorations that repair a tooth that has suffered structural damage but doesn’t need to be restored with a crown. They resemble fillings but are produced in a dental lab and cemented into place in your tooth. Onlays are a special type of inlay that are used to restore the biting surfaces of your teeth.
Dental Exam
Dr. Miller will thoroughly examine your teeth and gums for signs of injury and disease. He’ll examine your gums for signs of infection, and screen you for oral cancer.
Bone Grafts
Bone grafts are used to repair and restore areas where you’ve lost bone tissue. Donor bone tissue is grafted onto the area. Over time the donor tissue is absorbed by your body and the area is strengthened.
Contouring and Bonding
Contouring and bonding are methods to reshape a single tooth. They are used to make a tooth appear straighter, to remove or conceal chips and stains, and to correct the spacing between teeth. Contouring is the removal of small amounts of enamel with a special tool, and bonding is the building up of areas on a tooth with tooth-coloured resin.
Ceramic Crowns
Ceramic crowns are cosmetic crowns used to replace a tooth with a crown that looks virtually like a natural tooth. They are used to conceal teeth that are badly misshapen or stained.
CEREC
With our in-office CEREC system we can produce cosmetic crowns and veneers in as little as a day, allowing us to provide cosmetic enhancements in a single appointment.
Guided Implant Surgery
Dr. Miller began placing dental implants in 2000 and he has continuously invested in training and technology since then. Guided Implant Surgery is a computer-assisted technique that increases the long-term success rate of dental implants. We use 3D X-ray systems and computer-aided design to plan and design your dental implant and crown.
Dental Restoration
When you injure or lose a tooth, there can be long-term effects on your dental and overall health. We provide dental restorations to restore the health, function, and appearance of your teeth.
Lumineers
Lumineers are a brand of veneers that are ultra-thin. They can usually be placed without modification of your natural teeth.
In Office Whitening
We use ZOOM Whitening in our office. This process lets you whiten your teeth in a single appointment with a minimum of discomfort. The process is safe and yields consistent, reliable results.
At Home Whitening
If you prefer to whiten your teeth at home, we provide home whitening kits. You apply the whitening treatment each day until you reach the level of whitening you desire. The at home kits also contain an after-care treatment that you can use to spot treat your teeth for six months after whitening them.
Clear Correct
Clear Correct offers you the same level of orthodontic correction as metal braces, but with a solution that is virtually invisible. Plus, the Clear Correct aligners are removable, so you can eat what you like without worrying about food getting caught in wires.
Ridge socket preservation
When a tooth has been extracted the resulting socket in your jawbone can collapse and cause possible bone loss. To prevent this, we preserve the socket by filling it with biocompatible material.
Ridge augmentation
If you’ve been missing teeth for some time you may have suffered gradual bone loss in your jaws. We can partially reverse this loss by augmenting the area with bone grafts, restoring the appearance and shape of your gumline.
Pocket depth reduction
The gums around your teeth can form small “pockets” by pulling away from the roots of your teeth. The pockets can create a home for harmful bacteria if they become too deep. To keep this from happening we reduce the depth of the pockets.
Flap procedures
Flap procedures are any surgical procedure where we need to reach tissue beneath your gums. To do this we make incisions to open a small “flap” of gum tissue. We close the flap with sutures after the procedure.
NuCalm Relaxation System
Are you anxious about a visit to the dentist? We can help with the NuCalm Relaxation System, a medication-free method to keep you calm and relaxed during your treatment.
Sports Guards and Bite Appliances
Up to one-third of injuries to the teeth occur while playing sports. Broken or knocked out teeth are painful and can require dental restoration. Sports guards are the best defense for your teeth. A properly fitted sports guard protects your teeth from injury resulting from impact.
Dental Fillings
We provide white composite fillings to fill cavities and restore a tooth’s appearance and function. Tooth-coloured fillings are shaded to blend in with the rest of the tooth and protect it from further decay.
Periodontics
Periodontal disease can destroy the gum and bone tissue around your teeth. Symptoms can include receding gums, bad breath, loose teeth, and bleeding or sore gums. Left untreated, gum disease can result in tooth loss and has been linked to heart disease.
Cosmetic Dentistry
Our cosmetic dentistry services can help you transform the appearance of your smile. Cosmetic treatments enhance the appearance of your smile by changing the shape and colour of your teeth.
Dental Implants
When you lose a tooth, the surrounding bone (alveolar bone) shrinks as it heals. This can change the appearance of your face and jawline. Dental implants can prevent bone loss and provide a permanent replacement for a lost tooth.
Teeth Whitening
Your teeth can become stained by the food you eat. Professional teeth whitening helps to brighten the appearance of your teeth by letting you choose how white your teeth appear. The process is safe and reliable, with results that last up to one year. We use Canadian-made SpaDent whitening products.
Veneers
Veneers are thin shells that are cemented to the fronts of your teeth to make them appear straighter and brighter. They can be created and fitted quickly, allowing you to make an almost instant change to your appearance. To place veneers, we must remove a small amount of enamel from your natural teeth.
Family Dentistry
The foundation of every healthy smile is prevention of disease and decay. Our goal is to help patients enjoy good dental health by providing education and preventative dentistry.
TMJ
TMJ disorder, or TMJ, is the inflammation of the soft joint where your lower jaw connects to your skull. Diagnosis and treatment of TMJ involves determining the source of the inflammation and taking steps to reduce stress on the joint.
Professional Cleaning
The Canadian Dental Association recommends a professional cleaning every six months for optimal dental health. A hygienist will remove tartar and plaque from your teeth, polish the surfaces of your teeth to remove stains, and provide fluoride treatment if necessary.
Dental Emergencies
We provide emergency dental care to existing patients. We’ll do our best to help you.
Endodontics
We provide endodontic root canal treatment in our office. A root canal may be necessary to save a tooth that has been damaged by injury or decay. Modern root canal therapy can be done quickly and is no more painful than getting a filling.
Gum Grafting
Gum grafting is used to repair damaged gums or to make cosmetic enhancements to your smile. Grafts are taken from within your mouth or from donor tissue and placed on the area to be restored.
Crown Lengthening
Crown lengthening is when we remove gum tissue from around the base of a tooth. We use this procedure to make a tooth appear longer, or to remove gum tissue that may interfere with the placement of a crown.
Dental Crowns
A crown completely restores a tooth that has been severely damaged by fracture, wear, or decay. They are also used to restore a tooth that has received root canal treatment. Crowns can be made of a variety of materials depending on the location of the tooth being replaced and your budget.
Tongue-Tie & Lip-Tie Release
A frenum is a piece of connective tissue within your mouth. There is one between your upper lip and the gums underneath that you can feel with your tongue. Sometimes we are born with a frenum that is too short and it can cause discomfort. A frenectomy is the procedure we use to remedy this by removing or altering the frenum.
Bridges
Fixed bridges consist of one or more replacement teeth for a missing tooth. The bridge is fastened to the natural teeth on either side of the area where the tooth is missing. Bridges can also be supported by dental implants in areas where there are no neighbouring teeth to support the bridge.
Wisdom Teeth Extraction
The last set of teeth to emerge are the third set of molars, called the “wisdom teeth.” These teeth usually begin to grow in the late teens or early twenties. They can cause complications when they grow, such as crowding, pain, infection, tooth decay, and impaction.
Tooth Extraction
Infection and decay can result in a tooth needing to be extracted to preserve the surrounding teeth and tissues. When extracting a tooth, we take care to minimize damage to your jaws and gums and we provide post-extraction care, including replacement options.
Preventative Dentistry
The key to enjoying lifelong good dental health is regular preventative dentistry. Regular cleaning and examinations keep your teeth free from plaque and tartar and aid in the early detection and treatment of decay and disease.
